Artist Residency in Schools, K-12

A dance workshop typically comprises of a 45 minute to one hour or so session of age appropriate dance/movement instruction designed for beginners. The instructor will often incorporate a combination of repeatable movements for the students to learn and depending on the particular group, introduce a creative challenge so participants may also engage their creative, musical and expressive abilities. Prior discussion with the teacher/school will allow the instructor to understand the needs of a particular group of students. To facilitate the session it is desirable for teachers to remain with their class and participate if possible. Teachers can benefit from the professional development experience.
